About
Our Story
Adam Washington has had a lifelong connection to martial arts, following in the footsteps of his father, Alden Washington, who holds black belts in four different disciplines. Introduced to Kenpo Karate at just four years old, Adam quickly developed a passion for martial arts that evolved into a successful career as a full-contact kickboxer. By the age of 16, he had impressively won three national kickboxing tournaments in his chosen art, Bando. However, the physical demands of kickboxing took a toll on Adam's knees, ultimately forcing him to step away from the sport. With a keen awareness of his strengths, he pivoted to boxing, where his exceptional hand skills shone. This decision opened doors for Adam, earning him a scholarship with USA Amateur Boxing that allowed him to attend Temple University and later West Chester University. Unfortunately, during his second year of college, he underwent major knee surgery, which shattered his dreams of becoming a professional fighter. Determined to forge a new path, Adam reinvented himself multiple times across various industries. Yet, his passion for boxing remained undiminished, leading him to take over one of his father's gyms. For the past 11 years, he has dedicated himself to sharing his extensive knowledge of boxing and martial arts, training countless individuals eager to learn. His commitment to the sport has also extended to his family, as his son, AJ Washington, has been raised in the gym and appears poised to continue the family legacy as a third-generation fighter. Adam takes immense pride in being recognized as a master of the sport but humbly describes his “superpower” as teaching. Outside of the boxing gym, he applies his expertise in a different arena—as a knowledgeable realtor on the Kerry Carr and Co. team with Compass Real Estate in Wayne, PA, where he helps people buy, sell, and rent homes. Adam Washington's journey is a testament to resilience, passion, and a lasting commitment to both boxing and his community.
